What course to start with?

I want a change in career and so am looking at starting at learning how to become an alternative therapist but do nt know which course to start with - swedish body masssage or indian head massage, aromatherapy or reflexology orsomething else. I want to be qualified in a few different therapies but which one to start of with as a strong beginnning.

Is there a hard and fast rule for this?

What does the public desire mostly and obviously what pays the best??

Help, I don't know where to start?

It might help you to decide if you visit a few different therapists and try out different therapies for yourself, that way you have first hand experience as to what feels right to you?

For me swedish body massage and indian head massage stood out but I don't want to not do something that might be important that I personally was not into if you get my drift.

Hi Mystical Witch.

Im not sure where your geographical location is but I would recomend ITEC Holistic Therapy. You will need to do Anatomy and Physiology, along with sweedish massage, aromatherapy massage, reflexology, indian head massage, diet and nutrition. I did my course in Dublin / Ireland over 2 years, and since I have qualified have I worked in the UK and Ireland in Holisitc Centres and recently for myself here. Its a lucrative and fulfilling career but my advise is to get experience in a centre or salon somewhere and build up a client base first. Im also a Reiki Practitioner.

You will start with antomy and physiology (you need this to do any of the others) sweedish massage, reflexology in the first year probably. The others you can do in the second year depending on your college. It does seem daunting at first and worrying about where to start etc but once you get into it you will love it

Oh just saw you are in the uk ! There are lots of ITEC centres in UK. Go to their website www.itecworld.co.uk/ and see which one is closer to you.
