What do you have to do to introduce two ducklings to a duck who is sitting

on eggs but nothing ever hatches? Our duck every year for the past 4 years sits on her eggs so patiently every summer but they never hatch out. We do have a male but he is not doing his job properly. So on Weds we have got 2 ducklings coming and I am worried if she will take to them ok. Also do I need to worry about rats as they are outside. Will she keep them warm? Thanks Sarah

Almost impossible to predict the outcome but worth a try,a broody hen would have taken them with ease.I have added on new chicks to a batch of chicks just as they are hatching,the hen knows better or at least does not seem to mind.Have you worked out a back up plan just in case she does not accept them,you need to be prepared to care for them,wishing you luck with your duck,hope she co operates.
