Who, where and how for marketing materials??

I finally had my inspection today for an Establishment License! Please don't get me started on the 7 week wait...UGH!!

I should have my license # within 72 hrs (cross my fingers) so I can start ordering business cards, brochures, gift certificates and so on once I have that number.

Who do you use for printing? Online printers, local printers, office supply stores?

How do you come up with the graphics?? A logo?? Do you design it or do they? What about the companies that specialize in massage marketing materials? Anyone use them?

I have some generic brochures that I will put my info on the back but I'd like to have ones that would be exclusively mine.

So much to think about!

I don't have any recommendations for you other than the place that I work prints signs and graphic for cars, and prints to big magnets on cars. Let me know if you are interested, you can give them a call - at least for pricing.

I don't have that stuff since I'm a sole practitioner out of my home so I only advertise by word of mouth - friends and family referral.

I have used Natural Touch Marketing's brochures for several years.
IMO they're good for catching the client's eye & educating them on massage or different modalities.
Definitely call them up and get some samples!

Natural Touch makes great gift certificates and postcards, but when it comes to brochures & business cards, I prefer to design them myself so I can put my photo, pictures of my office and photos that match my website on them. Because I prefer to support local business as much as possible, I use a local printer. They use a laser printer which really makes images and print look fantastic. They are also much cheaper than any of the chain print shops. Not only that, but b/c I go there often, I have a working relationship with them which is very useful in the long run.

If you are on a budget, I still recommend VistaPrint.

What I really like about them is that once you have finally (and it takes a while to do this) come up with what you like for a brochure, gift certificate, card, postcard, etc. - it stays in your "bin" and is easy to just re-order when you get a "free" option in your e-mail from them.

In the past, I have regularly used their note cards and gift certificates as my gift certificates for the office. I don't use many and the "ten for free" ends up usually getting me 20, since I have them designed as the notecards AND gift certs (if that makes sense).

If you plan ahead for what you want to order, you can do a few orders of gift certs, post cards, and business cards, so that you can slowly stock up on a hefty stack of post cards while gathering gift certs ... along with your business cards.

I know a lot of people don't like Vistaprint, but I think you get the best bang for your buck, *if* you can think about what you are doing and think about it ahead of time. You can also go ahead and start playing with ideas there now, which will help you for the future, even if you decide to have someone create something for you later on.

If you need any help, I am happy to call and walk you through their site and how to maximise your effort and collect/attach other photos for your envisioned ideas (from their site) to a card or whatever you want to make --- on a Monday or Tuesday (my off days).

I couldn't agree more with pueppi! With some time and some patience you can create some truly great stuff and you can not beat the prices, especially if you are clever with their sales. I recommend VP to everyone.

Only my personal opinion - I do not care for natural touch's brochures. While thorough, I feel they are generic and very wordy for the average potential client and I am not a fan of such small print. I prefer a personalized, quick guide to get my points across to clients.

I also love vista print. They have lots of good massage themes to choose from. However, I prefer to design my entire card on Photoshop using their template and then upload that. I often have used a nice photo me or my husband took of nature and then make that dim, or only one side of the card and my info on the other side.

I have used their pre-made brochure templates in full color-glossy and those are very nice and impressive looking.
