why wont my boyfriend introduce me to his family?

I am 20 and he is 31. The relationship has moved quite quickly as we have been seeing each other for 6 months and now live together. He wants to get serious as there has been talk of marriage and children but whenever I bring up his family he just rolls his eyes. He has met my mum but i dont want to introduce him to people im close to because I find it wierd that he is so against me meeting his family.He says he isnt close to his family yet he sees his brother every week and his mum every other week, I think its a natural progression to introduce someone to your family. He hasnt told them we are engaged and I wonder do they even know about me.
Sorry i dont know how to reply to answers yet, the thing that annoys me is that his ex who he was with for 4 years was younger then me when they started seeing each other and she got to meet his family and now she is close to his mum and still sees his brother, it just seems a bit unfair seeing as we are engaged after a short ammount of time and he never got engaged to her yet she seemed to be in a better situation. Even when we get married we have to go away privately without anyone else being there

He could have some issues with his family and don't want to drag you into them. Or maybe he's ashamed of them. who knows.. confront him!

hmmm this wold concern me... maybe hes a bit worried about what they'll think of the age difference... but if he hasnt even told them that you two are engaged.. well then thats mad! Also maybe hes a bit worried about how they'll feel that ye got engaged after only 6 months... I really dont know.. but I do know that you need to talk to him about this and find out honestly why hes doing this... tell him that you're worried that hes not as committed to you as you are him to say that hes not keen for you to meet his family

The most likely reason is because of all those things you are talking about 1. there is age difference 2. You guys are and moving so fast in the relationship!!! He could not want you to meet his family because then he would have to listen to them telling listing all these issues... Or he is scared of their reaction to you.... you might just notice they aren't okay with you being with him for those reason in which case you'll get hurt, he probably just wants to protect you...
