Up to 40,000 Russian troops killed, wounded or captured. At this rate, they are militarily ineffective. While estimates range thatโs Russia had up to 200,000 troops in the engage, ent, many are support troops: truck drivers, radar, technicians and maintenance, medics, cooks, etc. Actual combat troops would be less than 40%, being generous, of that 200,000 and likely closer to 30%. This would explain why they are bringing in mercenaries, Chechians, Syrians, looking for Belarus to join the fight, etc. This would also mean Ukrainians can prepare for a counter arrack to push them back.
The Pentagon has previously denied confirming any reported estimates on the number of Russian troops that have been removed from battle.
