Anyway, so I'm reading this & I'm thinking "What crackdown?"...so, I just got back from Manhattan as I write this & I can confidently say that business is totally "as usual" in there...the place was packed & rockin' (which is the norm for Thurs night at 1am) and there were at least 75-100 gals in there.

There is no crackdown, at least not at Manhattan.

There are some quick check in hotels that offers hourly rates, however I am not sure if they are allowed to have late night check-ins during the Expo. These hotel/motels are normally 2-3 stars.

Was curious to know what LE means?

I had planned to try out Manhattan's on my next trip after consuming a healthy bacon cheese burger at Big Bamboo (trust me after two weeks of nothing but Chinese food -- it is the best burger in the world).

My concern now is that with the crackdown on the hotels I will not be able to bring the girl back to my hotel. I am staying at the Marriott on HongQiao Lu in Xujiahu. I am hoping this is not a far cab ride to both Manhattans, 999 and G18.

If people cannot bring girls back to the hotels then what are the options for travelers like me? You guys located in Shanghai with your own flats will have all the pussy and us visitors will have to wank off. That suck!

Blue Sky Bar is at Tongren Lu & Nanyang Lu...directly across from The Spot. There are plenty of girls in there, but nothing that I'd call "totally hot"...just a place to have some drinks & fool around with the girls. It's a hostess bar (lots of folks call them "girly bars" here), so don't plan on taking any of them home (it's not impossible, but it's rare)...for that stuff, you need to go to Manhattan or Malone's (or Judy's ).

I live about 20 minutes walk from Manhattan...here are a few notes of late...

Stopped by Judy's the other night for a look...took a seat at the long table near the door & ordered a beer. From my vaneforum.xxxe point it seemed the place was overrun by uglies & TV's/Ladyboys. It didn't take one of them long to approach me (which I politely turned down)...others flocked in & I left without finishing my beer.

Had a blast at Blue Sky Bar the other night & ended up not leaving until around 4am...two girls I was hooked up with were slammin' Tsingtao's like water (not lady drinks)...they got totally trashed with me, but alas I left alone (but I knew that going in...). The Tsingtao's only showed up as 50rmb on my bill, which I consider to be a relative bargain...at least it's not the 100rmb lady drink damage I've seen at other places.

Big Bamboo is about the coolest place in the area...good beer, nice pool tables, & tons of expats to share laughs with. Food's decent too...

I went through a stretch there where I was visiting Manhattan quite a bit & now when I walk in there, there are like 5-6 girls at any given time that I've already been with...they all seem pretty cool about things though, even if you decide to target someone different. The nice thing about Manhattan though is most of the girls are on visas (and therefore a limited stay), so the talent naturally has a bit of turnover to it.

Met one gal in Manhattan who's become sort of a regular for me...we hook up most weekends pretty regularly now. I took her to a restaurant/bar a few weeks ago, and I told her I had the hots for one of the waitresses. She proceeded to chat up the waitress, got her phone number for me & even arranged a dinner date! After numerous drinks, and when it was time to head home, she insisted we go by Manhattan first...so we head over there, and when we walk in, she proceeds to reconnoiter the place on the hunt for a 2nd gal for me for the evening. She finds one to her liking, asks me if I approve (I'm like "hell fuckin' yea!") & out we go. We weren't in the place 5 minutes. Needless to say, it was a pretty memorable evening.

pretty sure if i do enough research, i could find my own answer, but was hoping someone could quickly answer this...

if i go to a pick up bar, what prices am i expecting. i see a lot of girls, mostly those who just want a commission off me buying them drinks, but they told me that some will go home and some won't. i didn't get into details, but i think one i hinted that i had to pay the bar for the time they get off too, but i didn't know what to believe after a few drinks

for the ones that will go home, before i make any mistakes, i want to know what costs i can expect and if anyone doesn't recommend this route? thanks

It depends what night you go, earlier in the week is pretty rubbish but friday and saturday are normally always OK. Yes, Manhattans has more choice as it's set up for one purpose only, to pick up pussy.

I would be very careful about picking up FL's on the street these days. They could be LE's or working for LE's. Expo is making the Shanghai government extremely tight on things like this.

Is Malones really that good for picking up some ladies of the night? I have bben there many times and ended up going to Manhatten. Can some one fill me in?
It seems theey keep a guy at the door to filter them out at Malones. I have had better luck on Nanjin Road from about Malones to the JC Mandarin Hotel

Whoever told you that Minhang district is near People's square?
It most certainly is not.
Depending on where in Minhang, the absolutely closest to people's square is approx. 7 km (linear distance, naturally longer by car), or up to 20 km.

Anyway, adress to Manhattan is 154 Nanyang Road, just use Google maps and compare to you hotel's adress.

Hey, does anyone have an address for Manhattans? Do they have a website. I will be traveling to China for the first time in 2 weeks. Staying in a hotel in the Minhang District of Shanghai near people's square. How far is that to Manhattans? Any good places to pickup FLs near location of my hotel?

Is manhattan's any good to grab a bite to eat about 9:30PM before the action starts? Or any suggestions of alternate eating establishments where I can have a good drink and eat near manhattans and just walk over about 10:30PM?

The FL-Bars in Maoming Lu were closed down more than 3 years ago. Last year they closed the Julu Lu bar strip (which was almost dead anyway) and this year we had to wave goodbye to most of the infamous Tongren Lu bars.

However, if you are more interested in the selection of WG's than in bar hopping and buying drinks for the lady's, I advise you to go to Manhattan club around midnight on any day of the week.
